Nuria D. Llovet was born in Barcelona, Spain. Her dance experience began at the age of 8 with her first ballet class and then her introduction to flamenco at age 12.

She performed across Europe and the United States, touring with Emma Ma/era's Flamenco Dance Company. Nuria earned a degree in dance from the Boston Conservatory of Music and is accredited through the Institute of Theater of Barcelona. She holds a lifetime teaching credential through college level from the State of California.

In 1967, Nuria opened the Palos Verdes Academy of Dance. In 1974, she opened the Mendocino Dance Academy and also taught at College of the Redwoods for 4 years.

 
 
Nuria brought her dance expertise to Siskiyou County in 1978. She assisted in the COS Performing Arts Camp as Instructor of Irish Dance and Ballet from 1989 thru 2001.
 

Nuria's passion for Flamenco dance & performance was inspired & rekindled in 2002 when she returned to Madrid to attend the Amor de Dios Flamenco School of Dance.

Some of the artists she studied with: Maria Magdalena, Antonio Reyes, La Truca, Carmen Greco and Paco Romero. Following her stay in Madrid she studied at the International Dance Center - Carmen de las Cuevas in Granada, where she studied with Adrian Sanchez and Fatima Flores.

In 2004, Nuria attended a week long workshop and classes of "Flamenco in the Redwoods" taking classes from La Tania, Belen Maya, Defne Enc and Cajon with Sudhi Rajagopal.

 
     
    In June 2005, Nuria studied flamenco technique and choreography for a month with the Taller Flamenco, in Sevilla, under the instruction of Felipe Mato, Marcos Vargas, and Lordes Recio.
